Selena Gomez has spoken out plenty of times in the past when it comes to fighting bullying -- heck, she even wrote a song about it in "Who Says" -- so it only seems appropriate that she would choose to speak out in support of one member of the Disney Channel family over a special that aired on ABC Family this weekend.
n a new post on Twitter, Selena (who has her own show in "Wizards of Waverly Place") congratulated former "Hannah Montana" actress Emily Osment on the success of her special "Cyberbully" -- which managed to become a trending topic on Twitter Sunday night.
The hope here is that this special not only worked from the standpoint of compelling television, but also that it creates that conversation between parents and kids that just because you can say whatever you want online without getting found out does not mean you should.
Words carry major consequences, and online it is especially hard to know the weight of your actions when it comes to damaging the life of someone you have never met.
